Celebrating Black History Month gives our community the opportunity to respect our past, while honoring our future. Please join us for the following activites as we take the time to honor the accomplishments and contributions African American people have made within our community.
On Feb. 2, we will have a presentation about Edward L. Blackshear (pictured above) and a summary of our school’s history.
On Feb. 9, Olyvia Green (the first Black teacher at Pease Elementary) will talk to our students. Our third - fifth grade students will also learn about Black composers through a special assembly.
On Feb. 16, we have invited the Innervisions Gospel Choir from UT Austin for our morning assembly.
On Feb. 23, we will have our community performance for Black History Month at 2:00 PM.
